Documentation / Desktop / Scan a document Cameras

Upload files

If you already have photos or scans of documents saved as files, you don't need a camera at all. Open the Upload tab at the top of the scanner.

Upload
Upload tab with a large dashed drop zone: an upload icon, "Drag documents here", "or click to browse your files", a note that multiple files are processed in queue order, and JPG / PNG / PDF format tags. Below it, an empty file queue

Drop files on the zone or click it to browse. JPEG, PNG and PDF are accepted. Each PDF page is processed as a separate document. Drop several files at once and they are handled in queue order.

Processing files

Each file becomes a card in the queue below the drop zone, showing its name, size, type and document count, with a status of Queued, Processing or Done. Inside the card there is one row per document found: a thumbnail, the document type and the holder's name, marked ✓ Extracted. Pages still being read appear as placeholder rows until their result arrives.

Upload: processed files
Upload tab after a file has been processed. A green card shows the file name "ES-Spain.png", its size, type and document count, and a DONE badge. Inside it, one row with a thumbnail of the card, "ID Card", the holder name and "✓ Extracted"

The result

Click a row to open the same result drawer as a camera scan: the image at the top, the extracted fields below it, grouped by Document, Personal and Address. See Scan a document for the details.

When a file can't be read

A document that fails is marked ✗ Failed and its card turns red. Click it to open the report form and send us the image and OCR text, the same flow as a failed camera scan. See Report an error.

Bulk processing

You can upload as many files as you like at once, and the drop zone stays available above the queue so you can keep adding to it. This is ideal when you have a batch of pre-scanned documents to process.

To go back to live camera scanning, open the Scan tab.
